After being frightened by the prospect of spending £2,000 repairing the engine on our Safrane, I set about finding another solution. The simplest solution was to risk throwing more money away, so naturally I followed that path and purchased another Renault Safrane.
Some time ago I'd have been happy to never drive a Safrane, and now I own two of the damn things!
The 'new' car is entirely unroadworthy but, critically, the engine is fine. A swift engine change later, and I've now got the £51 motor back up and running.
Now the trick is to get it past it's MOT. As it's currently spewing vast quantities of oil from the top of the engine, that could be tricky.Labels: Staples2Naples 07
